VIVA enters its ninth year as the leading multispecialty, collaborative education symposium with a focus solely on peripheral vascular diseases.
Our goals remain as focused as when we first dreamed of this idea: to teach those interested in providing the highest level of patient care via an unbiased, comprehensive educational forum covering all aspects of vascular medicine and intervention. At the conclusion of the course, physicians should be able to:
- Understand the current opportunities and established roles of various medical therapies for the treatment of vascular disease.
- Establish a basic algorithmic approach for the diagnosis, surveillance and post-procedure follow-up of peripheral arterial occlusive disease.
- Increase awareness and understanding of the complete spectrum of interventional therapies for the treatment of patients with various aortic lesions.
- Increase knowledge of contemporary approaches to carotid artery management based on recent evidence-based data from randomized trials.
- Enhance understanding of venous physiology, anatomy, diseases and management options across a variety of venous territories.
- Elevate awareness of the current therapeutic alternatives available for the management of atherosclerotic vascular disease including the specific indications, risks, complications and long-term results of individual medical, endovascular and open surgical approaches.
