Medical Innovation Summit: An Expert’s 360° View of Device Development from Concept to Commercialization
Monday Oct 17, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Due to popular demand, this year In this full day symposium, we will explore real world device development in 2011. Our practices are uniquely dependent upon the availability and continuous improvement of devices for managing blood vessel disorders. How do these ideas come to life? What does it take to get a new device on the market and available to practitioners and to the patients we treat? How will the coming changes in health care affect this important pipeline that extends from brainstorm to bedside? Financing is the blood supply for new ideas. Are we in the midst of a change in the financing paradigm? What about off-label use of devices? Will the US be able to compete in the marketplace of medical device development? You will hear the ideas of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investment bankers, CEOs, engineers, clinicians, regulatory and reimbursement experts (including experts from the United States Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and have a chance to learn about this entire field in a single day. We will highlight one of the most exciting and challenging aspects of novel device development: drug and device combination products.
Experts will present lectures and participate in panel discussions with lively interaction. These and many other key issues will be covered in this single day gathering of the most recognized experts in their fields.
This session will not provide continuing education credits.
