This year, VIVA continues its generous support of fellows’ education by hosting a “Case Competition.” VIVA will provide free tuition for the entire meeting to fellows who prepare and submit an interesting vascular case in one of the following categories: Complex Procedures, Complication Management, Advanced & Novel Techniques, and New Technology. The submitted cases will be carefully reviewed in advance of the conference by a panel of experts and the top cases will be selected for presentation at the Case Competition. If your case is selected, you will have a total of 10 minutes to present. Your case does not need to be selected to qualify for complimentary tuition. A panel of experienced judges will select the top presentations, and the winning fellows will receive special recognition. As in previous years, we expect this pre-meeting event to be dynamic, interactive, and highly educational. Continuing education credits are not available for this session.
Fellows interested in submitting a case and attending VIVA 11 must first register for the conference by clicking here. Once you register, please return to this webpage to access required competition submission materials.
You must be an active Fellow to qualify for the tuition grant. Please note: the deadline for submitting cases and all associated materials is September 6, 2011.
Once you have registered, please download the Fellows Verification Letter by clicking here. Once complete, please fax to (408) 225-3240 or scan and email to Registration11@vivapvd.com.
Note: Fellows Verification Letters must be submitted on Institution Letterhead and have the signature of your program director.
You may access the required slide template by clicking here. Please submit cases on this VIVA PowerPoint Template. You are limited to a maximum of 25 slides including images. If your case includes embedded videos, you may upload each of the files or you may .ZIP them into one large file (as long as this file size does not exceed 250 mb). With your submission of a case for consideration, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:
All cases submitted to VIVA are the property of VIVA and will not be returned. The person/institution submitting the case, agrees to abide by all applicable laws including HIPPAA and allows VIVA the irrevocable, perpetual and royalty free right to copy, publish, distribute, transmit or otherwise use the sounds and/or images displayed and to make recordings of those sounds and/or images. In furtherance of this right, person/institution also agrees to permit VIVA, in perpetuity, to (i) use the recordings for such purposes as VIVA - in its sole discretion - may choose, including, but not limited to, those for which a fee may be charged; (ii) exercise all rights of whatever kind or nature in the recording(s) that now or may thereafter be protected by the copyright laws of the United States of America, any other applicable federal or state laws and the applicable laws of all foreign countries; (iii) copy, publish, distribute, transmit, and make derivative works from, all or part of the recording(s) and any related handout materials in various print or electronic media; and (iv) edit such recording for stylistic, grammatical or other purposes without affording the person/institution submitting the case, the opportunity to review or approve the final version. VIVA shall also be free to decide - once again, in it’s sole discretion - not to use any or all of these recordings. The person/institution submitting the case warrants they have the legal right to give such permissions to VIVA.
Prior to case submission, please ensure the following:
- The case to be submitted is on the provided VIVA Template
- There are no patient names or HIPPA Violations
- If the case has media files (ex. AVI), all files are to be included and compressed into one .ZIP file

If you would still like to attend VIVA as a Fellow, you must pay a registration fee of $150.
