About VIVA™

Educational Objectives

VIVA™ enters its seventh year as the leading multispecialty, collaborative education symposium with a focus solely on peripheral vascular diseases. Our goals remain as precise as when we first dreamed of this concept: to teach those interested in providing the highest level of patient care via an unbiased, comprehensive educational forum covering all aspects of vascular medicine and intervention.

Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Discuss diagnostic and treatment options for peripheral arterial, carotid, renal, mesenteric and venous diseases, as well as aortic aneurysmal disease.
  • Describe the nuances of vascular anatomy as they relate to case selection and access site selection, noninvasive and invasive imaging, and discrete disease states which may expand beyond atherosclerosis.
  • Compare current and future medical, surgical, and endovascular treatment options for vascular disease.
  • Identify complications following endovascular and surgical revascularization and develop management strategies for these complications.
  • Analyze areas in need of clinical and translational research to advance the care of complex patients with vascular disease.
